Shenzhen VIP Technology Co., Ltd. Privacy Policy
This app is mainly used for local interaction with gimbal hardware and does not rely on an account system or cloud account service. Photos, videos, recordings, and live-tracking screen frames are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers, except for the limited MediaPipe usage, performance, and diagnostic metrics described in Section 2.
1. Data processed locally
- Bluetooth connection status and device connection results
- Media and files you create in the app (stored locally)
- Basic permission state required to enable features
- On Android 11 and earlier, location permission is requested solely to scan for nearby gimbals; the app does not read, store, or transmit your location
- Device-orientation sensor results for interface rotation, processed only on the device
- Screen-sharing frames provided by the operating system after you start Live Tracking, and face, person, or gesture positions calculated on the device
2. MediaPipe on-device processing and metrics
The Android version uses Google's MediaPipe Tasks Vision (currently version 0.10.26.1) for on-device face, person, and gesture detection, including camera-based intelligent visual features and cross-app Live Tracking. The iOS version uses MediaPipe Tasks Vision (currently version 0.10.35) for camera gesture recognition; iOS Live Tracking uses Apple Vision for face detection. MediaPipe processes camera images, video, and Android screen-sharing frames on the device and does not send that input content to Google servers.
According to Google, MediaPipe may periodically contact Google servers to receive bug fixes, updated models, and hardware-accelerator compatibility information. It may also send API usage, performance, and diagnostic metrics to Google, including:
- SDK usage, downloads, installs, and session counts
- Inference counts and hardware-level performance metrics
- App ID and general characteristics of processed media (for example, image or video type, not the image or video content)
- Runtime environment information such as the device operating system and version
Google uses these metrics to measure API performance and usage, debug, maintain and improve MediaPipe, and detect misuse or abuse. For details, see the MediaPipe APIs Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
3. Cross-app Live Tracking and screen sharing
When you actively start Live Tracking and confirm the operating system's screen-sharing prompt, the app temporarily processes screen-sharing frames to detect the position of faces, people, or gestures and sends movement commands to the connected gimbal over Bluetooth.
The operating system may provide the entire screen, which may contain content from other apps, system notifications, or other personal information. A tracking region selected by you limits only the area analyzed by the algorithm; it does not limit the screen content captured by the operating system.
On Android, the feature uses MediaProjection and MediaPipe. On iOS, it uses ReplayKit and Apple Vision. Screen frames are processed temporarily in device memory and are not saved as photos or videos or uploaded to our servers. The feature does not use Gimbal View's camera or microphone permissions.
The feature detects positions only. It does not identify individuals, create face templates, or use screen content for advertising or cross-app tracking. Once you stop screen sharing, the app no longer receives new screen frames.
4. Sharing and tracking
Except for the limited metrics sent by MediaPipe to Google as described in Section 2, legal requirements, or situations necessary to protect users or the public, we do not transmit data to third parties. We do not sell personal information or use MediaPipe metrics for advertising profiles, cross-app tracking, or advertising measurement.
5. Permissions explanation
- Bluetooth: used to connect gimbal hardware
- Camera / Microphone: used only when you actively capture photo/video/audio
- Storage / Media access: used to save and read local media files
- Location (Android 11 and earlier only): requested solely to scan for nearby gimbals; it is not read, stored, transmitted, or used for any other purpose
- Screen sharing: used only after you actively start Live Tracking and confirm the system prompt; a selected tracking region does not restrict the system's capture scope
- Display over other apps (Android): used to display Live Tracking controls
- Notifications (Android 13 and later): used for the Live Tracking foreground-service status and stop action; this is a local functional notification, not marketing push messaging
6. Retention and deletion
Local media remains on your device until you delete it, and uninstalling the app removes its local app data. Live Tracking screen frames remain in memory only for the time needed to process the current frame and are then released. Lens direction, tracking-region, and direction settings remain until you change them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. The iOS version may store local statistics for the most recent session, such as frame counts, processing latency, error state, and control-command counts; these statistics do not contain screen or face images and are overwritten by a later session or removed when the app is uninstalled. MediaPipe metrics are processed and retained by Google under its Privacy Policy. The app developer does not receive your photos, videos, recordings, screen content, or location information.
7. Your choices and rights
You may deny or revoke camera, microphone, photos/storage, Bluetooth, and location permissions in system settings, and you may stop system screen sharing at any time to end Live Tracking processing of new screen frames. Features that require a revoked permission may stop working. To exercise any rights of access, correction, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law, contact us at the email below.
8. Minors
If you are a minor, use this app under guardian supervision.
9. Policy updates
If the data types, purposes, processing methods, or third parties materially change, we will update the policy version and present it again before continuing the affected processing.
10. Contact
